Eight interesting, smart and loud women sitting around a dining room table, enjoying a home cooked meal while discussing Lisa See’s Shanghai Girls. Some loved the book, most didn’t enjoy the ending and others just got bored after page 180…you know who you are! Nonetheless, everyone had a great time chatting about life, picking out new reading material for the next meetings and trying some new recipes inspired by the book. Brown Sugar Candy Chicken

Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of requests from friends for easy weekday recipes and I am chock-full of them. You wouldn’t know it from Kitchen Tested, but most days of the week I like to make simple dishes or eat leftovers. So I thought it was time I shared one of those recipes on my blog for the world to see. But it can’t just be any recipe, right?!? I mean, chicken dipped in Italian dressing and coated in bread crumbs just isn’t very adventurous, although it is delicious. Tuna and Watermelon Ceviche

We don’t have a printer in our house. I know that sounds strange, but Justin works only a few minutes away so if we need something printed, it gets done at the office. Don’t worry…we plan to buy a printer at some point, but we just keep pushing it off. So I sent Justin an email asking him to print a few recipes and when he came home after work, he handed me a stack of paper with his own addition right on top: Tuna and Watermelon Ceviche. I know that watermelon is all over television and the blogs these days, but that doesn’t mean this recipe isn’t worth trying here.
